What are the health benefits of a fiber-rich diet?

  • Weight Loss + Management
    • Fiber adds bulk to your food and boosts your metabolism, curbs your appetite, slows digestion + absorbs calories.
  • Healthier Gut
    • Fiber is a prebiotic that feeds the good gut bacteria in your body, helping it thrive to improve immune function and ultimately decrease bloating
  • Clearer Skin
    • Fiber soaks up toxins in the blood + eliminates them through the digestive tract instead of through your pores producing brighter and clearer skin.
  • Flatter Stomach
    • Eating a high fiber diet helps you have complete and regular bowel movements. Fiber increases stool bulk, which helps prevent bloating.
  • Blood Sugar Levels + More Energy
    • Fiber stabilizes blood sugar levels, providing your body with sustained natural energy.

Why does fiber makes weight loss easier?

  • Adds Bulk to Food
    • Fiber adds bulk to food without adding calories, so high-fiber foods fill you up without filling you out.
  • Boosts Metabolism
    • Fiber boosts metabolism. The human body can’t digest fiber, but it attempts to, burning calories in the process.
  • Satisfies Hunger
    • High-fiber foods satisfy hunger because they require more chewing, which prompts the secretion of saliva in the mouth and gastric juices in the stomach that promote satiety by signaling the brain when it is full.
  • Slow Digestion
    • Fiber slows digestion and steadies blood sugar levels, which curbs sugar cravings and sustains energy.
  • Absorbs Calories
    • Fiber swells in the stomach, absorbing calories and fat from other foods in the meal before the body can absorb them.

Is wanu safe for children?

wanu is ideal for kids, with zero sugar, sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners, and is a great way to sneak in vitamins whether it is simply drinking wanu or getting creative with recipes.

Leading health organizations recommend that children should get about 14 grams of fiber for every 1,000 calories they eat. That usually means that little ones ages 1-3 should get about 19 grams of fiber per day, and kids ages 4-8 should eat around 25 grams of fiber daily. wanu makes it easy to reach daily fiber + nutrient goals for even the pickiest of eaters! (FYI 1 bottle of wanu’s fiber is equivalent to 2 bananas and the average 8oz of juice contains 23g of sugar, compared to wanu’s 0g of sugar or sugar alcohols!)

Is wanu safe during pregnancy?

Absolutely! Although fiber is important to the digestive health of men, women + children, it becomes even more important during pregnancy. Due to the hormone-slowed digestive system + organ-displacing womb, many pregnant women will experience constipation during pregnancy (𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦!) wanu offers a convenient and easy way to stay hydrated + fuel your body with 10 essential vitamins including non-gmo, plant-based prebiotic fiber. The vitamins found in wanu are soluble, allowing the body to absorb + metabolize faster than regular vitamins. wanu also contains folic acid, a vitamin essential during pregnancy. What is the difference between probiotics and prebiotics?

Both are important to your overall health but play 2 different roles:

Probiotics are live bacteria found in certain fermented foods

Prebiotics come from fiber rich foods and feed the good gut bacteria in the digestive system.

Eating a balanced amount of both keeps your gut microbiota healthy and your immune system optimal. Prebiotic fiber leads to development of more SCFAs in the gut which is the main nutrient for cells in your colon. They promote a stronger gut barrier that keep out harmful substances, viruses and bacteria helping boost your digestive health and immune system.

What is the difference between soluble fiber and insoluble fiber?

Dietary fiber comes in two forms: soluble and insoluble.

Soluble Fiber: swells like a sponge in the stomach giving food a jellylike bulk that makes you feel full. Soluble fiber also binds with calories and fat in the stomach and intestines and pulls them out of the body before they can enter the bloodstream. Good sources of soluble fiber include oatmeal, oat cereal, oat bran, apples, oranges, pears, lentils, strawberries, nuts, beans, dried peas, blueberries, cucumbers, celery, and carrots.

Most whole plant foods contain both types of fiber. Eating a variety of fiber-rich foods will provide you with beneficial amounts of both.

Insoluble Fiber: Also known as roughage, includes the woody or structural parts of plants. Insoluble fiber works like nature’s broom, helping speed the passage of material through the digestive tract, burning calories in the process. Good sources of insoluble fiber include: whole wheat, whole grains, wheat bran, corn bran, barley, couscous, brown rice, bulgur, seeds, nuts, zucchini, cabbage, onions, tomatoes, carrots, green beans, dark leafy vegetables, and cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, as well as certain fruits, such as apples, as well as raisins, grapes, root vegetables eaten with skin.

How much fiber should I consume each day?

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association) recommends women get 25 to 35 grams of fiber in their diet daily, and men, 38 grams, yet most adults in the U.S. get only 9 to 11 grams of fiber per day, less than half of the recommended amount. This is due to our over-reliance on processed foods that have been stripped of fiber.  Lack of fiber in the diet leaves people hungry and more prone to overeating.

How much fiber is in a bottle of wanu?

Each bottle of wanu contains 7g of soluble prebiotic dietary fiber that’s equivalent to 24% of your daily fiber intake as recommended by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

How much water should I drink each day on a high fiber diet?

Drinking water + ingesting fiber should go hand in hand. Increasing your water intake while boosting a high fiber diet, helps avoid issues such as bloating + ensures healthy digestion. Men + women who consume 35-40g of fiber daily, should drink at least 3L of water throughout the day.

When is the best time to drink wanu?

The best time to drink wanu is ANYTIME, with the exception of enjoying one too close to your bedtime, since each bottle boosts 100% Vitamin B12 (which provides your body natural energy!) So crack a bottle first thing in the morning for a dairy alternative to your smoothie, pair a cold one with a fresh salad for lunch or enjoy in the office to beat the 3pm slump or hydrate while you workout!

I’m a diabetic, can I drink wanu?

Absolutely! Often diabetics are advised to avoid sugary drinks because they raise your glucose levels. wanu is a great beverage alternative, since it’s SUGAR FREE, packed with 7g soluble prebiotic dietary FIBER + is LOW IN CARBOHYDRATES! Each bottle is naturally sweetened with a monk fruit- stevia blend with 0 NET CARBS, helping diabetics control blood sugar levels. wanu is not only a healthier choice to stay hydrated, but also great for achieving the daily fiber intake of 25-50 grams as recommended by the American Diabetes Association.
