spicy kiwi cucumber margarita

spicy kiwi cucumber margarita

This Spicy Kiwi Cucumber Margarita is light and refreshing with a kick of heat that’ll wake up your tastebuds. The heat comes from jalapeño infused tequila to balance out the fresh flavors from the kiwi and cucumber, and natural sweetness from wanu. If you love a good spicy marg, keep this recipe handy for your Cinco de Mayo celebrations!

Yields:

6 margaritas

Ingredients:

  • 2 cucumbers
  • 2 kiwi, peeled
  • 1/2 cup kiwi cucumber wanu
  • 1/2 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 1/2 cups jalapeño infused tequila*
  • tajin seasoning for the rim
  • kiwi, cucumber, and lime for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the cucumber, kiwi, wanu, and lime juice, and blend until smooth. Strain the mixture with a fine mesh sieve, using a spoon to mash down on the solids to extract every bit of juice (you should end up with about 2 cups). Cover and chill.
  2. Run a wedge of lime around the rims of your glasses, then dip them into the tajin seasoning until it sticks.
  3. To a cocktail shaker, add ice, 3 ounces of tequila and 2 ounces of juice. Shake well and pour into two glasses with a little ice. Garnish if desired + enjoy!

*if you don't have jalapeño infused tequila, make your own by adding 1 jalapeño (quartered) into a glass with your tequila of choice. Cover + refrigerate for 2-4 hours until chilled (the longer it steeps, the spicier it gets!)

Pair it with our Kiwi Salsa for the ultimate Cinco de Mayo happy hour.

Cheers
